Venture Capitalists

Most established businesses, like restaurants, retailers, and manufacturers, use their marketing budget to develop their Web sites, which are used to support and supplement their core business. Web-based companies that do not have an offline component often do not have the necessary funds to hire the staff to program the site, purchase necessary inventory, or effectively market the site.
Venture capitalists provide the monetary resources necessary for getting some of these sites going. Many people have exciting ideas for new sites, and there is strong competition for a fi nite amount of money. Venture capitalists want to see a solid business plan for a site and will usually hold a series of investigative meetings with the company’s owners before they will make an investment.
